Delete your Nitick account

You can delete your account and everything attached to it at any time. It takes under a minute in the app, and it cannot be undone.

Delete it in the app

1. Open Nitick and tap the Profile tab.
2. Scroll down to Account and tap Delete account.
3. Read the message, type DELETE to confirm, and tap Delete forever.

Your account is removed straight away and the app returns to the welcome screen. Sign out, on the other hand, only clears Nitick from your phone and keeps your account.

Cannot open the app?

If you have lost your phone or uninstalled Nitick, ask us to delete it for you. Use the contact form, choose Delete my account and data, and write from the email address you signed up with. We may ask you to confirm it is you. We will delete the account within 30 days and email you when it is done.

What is deleted

• Your profile: nickname, icon, photo, bio and every link or contact detail you added.
• Your friends, friend requests, blocks and the in-person confirmations.
• The record of who you crossed paths with.
• Your chats: every message, photo and voice note in your conversations, for both people. The files themselves are erased from storage within a few days.
• Your notification token and your sign-in (email and password).
• Everything Nitick stored on your phone.

What we may keep

• Reports that mention your account, with a copy of the reported messages, for as long as needed for safety and legal reasons.
• Backups made by our hosting provider, which can hold a copy for a short time until they are overwritten.
• Diagnostics held by Google Firebase for its standard periods. They are not linked to you once the account is gone.
• Messages already delivered to other people's phones. We cannot remove copies from other people's devices.
• Anything we are required by law to keep.
